A Great Experience as a Professional Guest at a West Virginia Writers Retreat!

Recently, on the weekend of March 20-22 , I had a wonderful experience as a professional guest, joining Tim Waggoner and Michael Knost for a Novel Writing Writers Retreat and Workshop in West Virginia that involved some wonderfully talented writers that everyone should keep an eye on! Darius Jones, Addie King, Rebecca Cuthbert, Ed Downes, Travis Sayre, and Nessa Brown were the participants in this workshop. All of them are writers who are dedicated to improving their craft and willing to listen and put in the work necessary.

The discussions were insightful and highly constructive, and there was a real sense of camaraderie and mutual support between them. I look forward to watching their writing journeys in the years to come and am confident that they are capable of creating some amazing work!

Holly and I had a blast visiting with everyone too! Also, a big shout-out to Lee E. E. Stone for coming up to join everyone for dinner on Saturday evening, was GREAT to see him again! Until the next time… Onwards and Upwards!

Cover Reveal of Vampires Don’t Sparkle Anthology, Includes New Short Story!

Vampires Don’t Sparkle! cover has been revealed today, created by the award-winning Matt Perry!

I’m excited about this anthology project! My short story “The Excavation” is included in this anthology, which features some incredible authors like Gary A. Braunbeck, Tim Waggoner, Maurice Broaddus, Lucy A. Snyder, Bob Freeman, and many more.  The editor is none other than Michael West! AND a portion of proceeds from the sale of this anthology go to cancer research, which is a very personal thing to me (my dad was a cancer researcher, for those of you that might not know).

There’s a pre-order window up for one week for those wanting copies signed by the editor.  This anthology is definitely for those who like vampires of the non-sparkly kind! 😉
